Sorry, Steven....

...but I hate these colors.

And who cares if you "lifted the hues right out of drawings of the family's favorite jockey in pink-and-blue racing silks."
Blech.

I feel sorry for this pretty Virginia barn.

Songs Sung In French Make Me Sad

Have you ever stumbled upon a website with music playing?  Of course you have.  For the most part it bugs the shit out of me and I immediately turn it off.  And then there are times when they play pretty cello music, or nice jazz.  What I really don't like is music sung in French.  It always makes me sad.  Random, I know.....but I was just thinking about that this morning.

Also, I feel uninspired of late.  The Oscars didn't do it for me last night and not ONE dress wowed me enough to post.  I think I was emotionally detached as well, because I didn't see most of the movies that were up for the big awards.  (Rare for me, as I usually make a point to see them....)

What's on your mind this Monday morning?  Fill me in.

I like this little alcove with wallpaper....

Yesterday my best friend did a party
because of his birthday, it was nice &
all his friends were there. I also forgot
how to drive a standard car!! Haha the
bad thing is that I drunk a little more
than I should but it went well after all!!
Because of my friend's birthday we went
to a house of a friend to drink & to hangout,
we had a great time, I also invited my other
best friend to my house & it was nice!
This last thursday we also did a prank for
my best friend because it was his birthday
& now he is 18!! We missed 2 classes while
we were preparing all for it haha we throw
him a lot of flour & balloons full of water haha
it was so fun!! But he got so mad at me & my
other friends :/ the good thing is that he is not
mad anymore haha
Yesterday we had a presentation in our
Ecology class(: we need to do a biodome
& to put seeds on it & bugs to make well
an ecosystem, as you can se everyone was
so excited & put a lot of effort in it, even
the boys! They put frogs in in!! Haha my
project was so normal, my friend & I did it
but she dis all the job :$ haha also one team
of boys won for the best project, so I can
relate that when it comes about land, animals
& stuff like that, they like to do it! Haha

It's Been A Long Week

I feel like it's been a long week.  Emotionally and physically tiring.  I just want to go and sit in this room.

XO

~tree following~

okay so i went out a few days ago and took some photos of our young rowan...

as you can see it is very leggy right now and there are tiny fuzzy buds slowly developing.
it sits on the left hand side of our garden facing south and so gets plenty of sun in the spring and summer, and although we had two very hot, early summers has never suffered...mainly because the 'grey water' drinks it was given.

as for the garden in general we have crocus and snowdrops flowering, and yesterday i noticed a few daffodils developing their buds.
other plants and trees are pushing out small buds and i am so pleased that the weather is slowly warming up now.
i think it is nearly dry enough to give our garden table, chairs and bench a cost of wood protector ready for the warm, sunny days ahead when i will be wanting to spend all of my time outside in my nook.

~of moots and mini festivals~

okay first things first
a few posts back becky asked  about the stonewylde moot in may.

i think some of you here may well belong to the stonewylde community and/or/are have read kits amazing stonewylde books and are excitedly awaiting the publication of
shaman of stonewylde

...if you dont please go and have a look, buy the books and put aside a day to lose yourself in them!

anyway for those of you who have already have fallen in love but not seen the posting about our moot please pop into the forum where you will find some more information.

our gatherings/moots are growing from strength to strength.
it all started with a single day one october where a group of us met up in avebury for the day. the following year we held our first camp.

the camps have now evolved into a (with thanks to the campsite always allowing us to use their paddock and 'the barn'...you need to know the books for the significance of the barn...for as long as we need it) secret mini festival for this year we will have market stalls where those who craft can sell our wares, live music (we are lucky enough to have a few very talented guitarists among our friends), reiki, card reading and this year for the first time a drumming circle and chanting...and even more amazing we are having handfastings.

it really has developed into a special community and i am honoured to be a part of it

well i survived my haircut

actually i ended up having a bit more of a trim...

lately i have been feeling a bit

 'McPerson'

a bit bland, a bit sedate, a tad homogenised.

the few of you who read this and have met me know i am not one for dressing/looking the 'norm' so to speak and for a while i have been wondering what to do with my hair, i wanted somethig different.
last year i decided i wanted dreadlocks but had to really grow my hair much longer to take into account shrinkage.
but after seeing the state of someones hair who had just cut off her dreads at the free spirits camp in september i changed my mind.

so it was back to the drawing board so to speak.

then about a month ago i remembered how i had my hair some years back...actually make that over twenty years ago...which, by way of some googling not only made me realise it had a name...but also makes me aware just how far ahead i was in the fashion stakes back then (hahahaha...me? fashion? i think not!) for it only became something really linked with women...trendy if you will...a couple of years ago as seen in this newspaper article

way back when, my undercut went right round my head and i thought that was a bit much now so decided to just have the sides short.
so off i trotted into the village to see katy
she was expecting just a trim so i think this added a bit of excitement to her day when she brought the clippers over and we discussed which grade (i went for grade 5 as i was not sure how swampy would react!) and it goes about 2 inches above my ears...with my hair down it is not noticeable.

as i walked out of the village i saw swampy and flynt walking towards me and he did'nt notice what i had done until i actually showed him.

i love it, looking at some images on the internet some girls/women have it done and it looks very harsh, i think because of the way they have their hair and their general look.
this blog has a picture of a very nice 'girly' undercut...
but katy has made mine look soft, maybe its the way i leave my hair to do its own wavy, curly thing.
anyway i love it and swampy after a good look decided it looks better than he initially thought.

anyway i have rambled on wayyyy to long, my next post will be my

Colorful in Catalonia

How did it get to be Wednesday night?
We had a great long weekend in Pittsburgh and it's been go-go since we got back.
How are you?  Having a good week so far?

I just stumbled upon this beautiful, colorful bed & breakfast in Catalonia...web-surfing pays off.

~comfort zone~

today is my first hair cut in months...probably the first in about 8-10 months.
i stupidly had it cut to shorter than jaw length last may and it was a huge, really huge mistake.
my face just does not allow me to get away with shorter hair.

so it is now well past my jaw, close to my shoulders...if i pull out the curl it sits on my shoulder.
my plan is to just let it grow...and grow...
so today its just a tidy up, a mm or two off the ends that's it...
but i feel sick and anxious...i always feel like this when it means i am going to have to let people, either mentally, physically or both, into comfort zone.
needless to say i will be a happy bunny after midday!

~*~*~*~

the sun is shining here in the forest so i shall be out taking some photos of my rowan post hair cut.
i had planned on  doing it over the weekend but i have been fending off a migraine for the last four-five days.
it needs a lot of careful management, and i hate to say it, conventional medicine, to enable me to say out of bed and not throwing up.

i have tried the alternative route with these and it fails miserably.

~*~*~*~

we are also hoping to get Pretty Pagan back this week...possibly today or tomorrow.
she went off to the garage three weeks ago this week when swampy realised his back problems meant he would be able to get the gearbox out and fix it himself.
we had the replacement gearbox delivered to the garage last tuesday, fully expecting her to be ready to bring home a few days later.
unfortunately the garage had neglected to tell us the mechanic doing the work was on leave last week and they had no other mechanic to do the job...
something i fully believe they could have told us the previous week when we spoke with them.

needless to say i was fuming over this lack of foresight while poor swampy remained quietly resigned.

our camping season starts on may so we are wanting her back to put in our new bits and bobs...to say nothing of just getting out and about and getting our own shopping!

well off i go, one last mug of lemon tea before pulling on my 'amelias' and trotting into the village...

Yesterday we had our first recording for our
television class(: it was expected to be awesome
but no one of my team cared about it & he had
nothing for it!! Haha so we recorded on top of my
friend's truck & did a show of banda haha it was
funny after all & more because we had texan hats
& he fell like cowboys haha & I took a photo with
my photographic's teacher with it(:
My best friends!
The teacher we did the prank!
While we were on the serenade
My best friend <3
Mr. Pebbles! haha
It was valentine's day & everybody spending a
lot in gifts & I don't know but I think that's stupid,
I don't like Valentin's day because of that, you
need to spend a lot of money just because you
need to give a gift not because you want to, so
that's not good :S I think the best gifts are the
ones that you give for no reason at all, that's
when it really surprises you!

& what can I say about my day? First of all I
lost my ID so I went to University to get a new
one & to pay for it, the good thing is that my best
friend was with me & we took a lot of pictures :$
then my friends & I did a prank for my friend
that is in love with out teacher from last semester
so we gave him a serenade from her but she didn't
know it! Haha so it was very funny!

At the afternoon a friend of mine came to my house
& we went for a starbucks & he gave me the most
random gift somebody could ever give me! Haha he
told me "I'm going to give you something that nobody
will ever give you!" & guess what he gave me? A big
watermelon!! Hahaha it was so funny because when
he gave it to me I couldn't stop laughing haha so it
was very cool! It's name is Mr. Pebbles haha then I
was with a friends drinking & having a good time
with them, so my day was sooo random!!
