~delta blue is home~

well 'delta blue' has been here for a week now and i just adore her and her sound~that beautiful banjo sound...even simple things sound great.

i have been playing her every day-working on the new chords (just after i learnt all my guitar chords i have a whole host of new ones to learn!) plus pinch patterns and rolls.
i started to tear my hair out over frailing so decided to work on bluegrass to be going on with-although Calv has been working on frailing so in the future will be taking some lessons from him!

we are going away in a couple of weeks so he kindly leant me his padded gig bag until i buy my own.

~*~*~*~

we are having a period free of rain right now so we have been finally able to potter in the garden and at the moment are clearing a space to move mismi's 'mansion' so we can re-claim the whole of the patio for ourselves.
we have also moved our bench down to the bottom of the garden, placed against where the front of the grrl-cave will be, facing the pond and waterfall-a perfect place to sit and meditate, star gaze, moon gaze or pick on the banjo.

we both had what my nan would call 'forty fits' last night as opening our curtains after watching a dvd we saw our neighbour (the cement loving, plant hating ones) has built a shed at the end of their garden on top of the 3 foot high platform so that now the windows to their shed actually over looks our garden and windows.
i am really not happy about this as i feel it invades our privacy-if they so wish they can stand in the shed and see not only into our garden but in our bedroom and living room windows and through the back door if it open.
as a result we now have to keep our net curtains drawn across which i really do not like-i like to be able sit in bed with a cup of tea with the curtains open so i can watch the birds.

anyhow i have e-mailed our local council asking about putting up some trellis to protect our privacy, who has forwarded it to the maintenance inspector although they told me that

'there may be restrictions depending on the height of the trellis'

i really hope they are joking!
