~squirrel? me?~

okay i have had one of those weeks this week
do you ever get them?
the kind of week where you cannot settle, cannot concentrate
even worse i started two felting projects which just turned out...
pants...
its the only word i can use to describe how badly they turned out!

i think the culmination of the full moon and the waning phase we are now going through has messed with my system.

i really must get the motivation going as i have a craft stall at the big stonewylde moot in may.

~*~*~*~

i laid my hands on some goodies yesterday.
my mum is having a new kitchen put in and so we went round to help her clear all her cupboards and i came away with a few things.
i had to leave some things behind because swampy said we do not have room~so i have told mum to keep them to on side and i will smuggle them home later.

well would you turn down three 1960's pyrex casserole dishes with duck motif's and 1970's pale yellow canisters that slot into each other?

no, i wouldn't either!

anyway here is what i brought home yesterday...

english pewter tankard, mustard pot and a piece of lustre glaze studio pottery jug with pouring handle~this came from either devon or cornwall in the 1970's on our yearly family holiday
(my dad would shoehorn us all into our bright red mgb sports car and set off about 2am to avoid the traffic!)
i had previously spirited away another studio pottery jug...

squirrel? me?

you can see the jug better here, plus a stoneware pot that i remember holding chedder cheese, as it states on the front, and a hornsea pottery vinegar pot...mum has a lot more hornsea i am hoping to get my mitts on!

keys!
i think these belonged to the big shed at the far bottom of the garden that had been built from hefty railway sleepers.
i will be making something with these...

now a mystery...
if you notice in the first two photos, there is a box full of tissue paper in the back ground.
it was sitting un-opened in one of the cupboards and my mum did not even know what was in it!

of course i had to have a look and see what i found...

teeny, tiny glasses!

they are all about 2-3 inches tall.
and six are plain with what is like a kind of lustre to them.
there is one solitary one that looks like a teeny wine glass
(perfect for a wee dram of sloe gin methinks!)

then there are these little curiosities, six of them in red, yellow and green...

don't you think they are the sweetest little things?!

my mum thinks that maybe my nana gave them to her and the only clue i have about them are the mark on the bottom saying 'france'
all we can think of is that nan bought them one one of her regular day trips to France.

i would just to love more about them

~*~*~*~

as Pretty Pagan is at the garage we took the heritage line into lymington.
i popped into oxfam before going to meet my sister who was giving us a lift back home and so glad i did because i found this

i have already started to read it and it is very interesting.

finally, it was my birthday last weekend...the grand age of 45!
and my friend lina up in yorkshire sent me some goodies, among them, this to add to my studio pottery addiction...

a jug from the Routh Original Range from Wold Pottery
