~of sacred sites~

i am a dreadful blogger
 truly awful
 lackadaisical
there is no excuse

hrumph....

i had meant to at least blog via tumblr while we were away but was so busy meeting friends, shopping and sleeping i didnt even get time at night.

even my morning cup of tea was not spent in bed but sitting outside as our dear friends roses and lizzie fae were camped next to us in their tent and using the 'solstice cafe' (more about that in a mo!) for their morning tea and so i would go and join them.

but we had a fantastic time and didnt want it to end...

our journey to Glastonbury took us across the cranbourne chase with the most amazing views...

we had to stop for a 'comfort break' for flynt!

there is something about the Tor...it is like a beacon to those who feel connected, in whatever way, to this land and the ancestors.
i dont know why this is, but it is so.
even from many miles away when it is a teeny, tiny speck on the horizon you can turn your gaze to it straight away, with no help from any map.

from my first visit over twenty years ago it has felt like another home for me and i know many people who feel the same and you keep being drawn back time and time again...

our campsite in Glastonbury was only a ten minute walk into the town (actually town is wrong, i would call it a large village!) and so the next day we walked down and met our good friends alan 'the welsh wizard' and jilly from wales who had come down for the day.

Glastonbury has a pull to it like the Tor...it draws you in and holds you close and something finds its way into your soul and remains there forever and you never want to leave...

luckily swampy and i only live a two hour drive and so can go for a day when the mood takes us, but now we know we can camp so close our future visits will be for a day or two.

it was swampys first ever visit to Glastonbury~my vists are countless...see it does get into your soul and draw you back~and so i was a bit unsure how he would take to the 'alternativeness' of it~we had been there only five minutes when he turned to me and said 'we are definatly coming back here!'
i was so pleased and was equally amazed when he fell in love with the goddess and the green man where i topped up my incense supply with goddess and greenman, green man and wise woman

in another shop i was able to buy two little bottles of Spiritual Sky perfume oil, white musk and orchid-i have used this for many years...

when i was a 21 year old chamber maid in one of the few large hotels here in the village i would wear my uniform-a horrid yellow ruffled thing with my DM boots with bells laced through the laces, my hair henna'd (the top was long and i had the back and sides shaved to grade 3) and my spiritual sky patchouli oil~one day i was told to stop with the patchouli as someone complained of the smell!

i also bought a beautiful long purple skirt in Lilith, some books in The Speaking Tree and we all had lunch sitting outside of Heaphys enjoying a nice cup of tea and people watching.

it was a really special day and it was only the start of our holiday for next we were headed to Avebury

we arrived at the campsite and set up and slowly all our friends started to arrive over the next two days-we took over the covered bbq area, now named 'the barn' on friday and saturday night, and on the saturday we took over the village hall in avebury for the day for kits book signing.

Mr.B's gongs~they sounded amazing in the dark...

poor Bilbo broke his leg at the lammas games in avebury the week before...

briar baggins loved flynt~especially his fluffy tail which she thought was a good toy...

saturday night was dress up night to celebrate kits new book...

it was a really special weekend and many, many tears were shed when we all had to go our own way and return to the 'outside' world.

however all is not lost for we are all having another big gathering in may and between then and now we are arranging small moots and gatherings (to say nothing of the facebook community~goodness knows what we would do without facebook now!)

well time for me to think about dinner and peruse all my 'new' books and my new yoga magazine.

i shall come visit with you all over the next few days!
