thank you all for your enthusiastic comments about the start of my new tattooing journey and welcome mad madame mel to my little 'roundhouse'!
dubgirl, i am not really sure how it is going to evolve, i don't think it will be a sleeve in the usual sense, you will have to watch this space!
today it is all much better but surrounded by a yellow bruise.

the dear soul that is robyn asked more about the 'seven daughters of eve' and 'clan mothers' so i will provide some more information here taken from 'britain bc' by archaeologist francis pryor (who by the way discovered the bronze age site of flag fenn).

we are all descended from the first cro-magnon people-women-from africa and the professor of human genetics at oxford university, brian sykes, named the first african mother of the homo sapiens 'mitochondrial eve'.
mitochondrial dna is passed directly through the female line and so professor sykes team was able to trace a pattern of inheritance and found that almost the whole indigenous population of of europe derived from seven women, 'clan mothers', who lived 45-10,000 years ago, who sykes named 'the seven daughters of eve'.
one of these clan mothers has been named ursula and she began her clan in greece 45,000 years ago and her direct maternal descendants are found across europe, but mainly in scandinavia and western britain.
dna tests on 'chedder man', one of two bodies found in goughs cave in chedder gorge, somerset revealed he was a direct descendant of ursula and a man local to chedder gorge recently had his dna tested and found that he was a direct descendant to 'chedder man'
now doesn't that just blow your mind?!
so you can see why the ancestors are so important to me~we all have very real links to the peoples of the past, not just over hundreds of years but tens of thousands.
